How to have focus
on the low notes

One on the big problems piccolo players are coping with is the lack of focus with the low notes: in this short video Peter Verhoyen, Piccoloist of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, explains in what ways he achieves this focus.

1. First steps for beginners
For many flute players it seems to be a very difficult job to make the transition between flute and piccolo. Peter Verhoyen thinks it's not that difficult, and he has mainly three different subjects: multiple position, throat tuning and control of the upper lip.

2. Tips for more advanced piccoloists

Every month Nicola Mazzanti selects some of the questions that users have written in the appropriate form, answering them in the episodes on the “Nicola answers” section, available to all subscribers.
